Pet Health Ecommerce Promo
Over 1,000% return on ad spend on 85 purchases across two holiday weekends
The Challenge:
A veterinary and at-home pet health technology brand specializing in anxiety relief entered the summer behind plan after underperforming Q1 and Q2 sales. Leadership was counting on two holiday weekends, Memorial Day and Independence Day, to help close the gap. Each promotion ran on a three to four day window built around a specific offer, $50 off site-wide for Memorial Day and 20% off for Independence Day, with promo codes that needed fast visibility across paid channels. Both pushes sat inside a year-round paid media retainer, and the short windows left no time to test slowly or optimize over weeks.
Our Approach
Campaigns ran across Google Search and Display, Meta, and LinkedIn, with each audience segment placed on the channel where it was most likely to convert. Returning customers saw offer-forward ads that assumed familiarity with the brand, and new customers saw creative that introduced the product before presenting the discount. Every ad named the specific holiday and promo code, keeping the message consistent from ad to landing page.
Spend and conversion data were reviewed daily, often several times a day, and budget shifted toward whatever was converting within hours. Spend was front-loaded early in each window to capture demand before promo fatigue set in, then adjusted based on how quickly codes were being redeemed.
Our Results:
Memorial Day: 1,700% return on ad spend at a $15.50 cost per acquisition, the client's best short-window promotion to date
Independence Day: 1,000% return on ad spend at a $25 cost per acquisition
85 purchases directly attributed to paid media across both weekends
Nearly $22,000 in attributed revenue on about $1,600 in ad spend
Both weekends beat the client's prior holiday benchmarks
Close to 10% of the year's total sales came from these two short windows
The year closed on pace for a projected 150% increase in total sales
Short promotional windows reward fast decisions. Treating each holiday weekend as its own sprint, with dedicated creative, daily budget reviews, and front-loaded spend, let both offers outperform with almost no time to test. The same approach fits any business that depends on a few high-traffic weekends, from a holiday sale to a peak-season opening.
